The Land Use Committee, chaired by John Wayne, serves as LACA’s primary contact for land use issues on or near Lake Anna. The committee works in an advocacy capacity with developers, citizens, and local government entities to ensure land is used or developed in such a manner to preserve the safety, cleanliness, and enjoyment of Lake Anna and its surrounding area.
The committee maintains contact with Louisa, Spotsylvania and Orange County officials, other governmental units and the business community to stay abreast of possible developmental and land use issues. They work with planning officials and developers as soon as plans are conceived to review primary issues of lake safety, shoreline stability and structures, water and septic/sewer facilities, open space and storm water management.
The committee also handles other tasks such as attending various government meetings, working on other committees impacting Lake Anna, such as the counties’ comprehensive plans, Lake Anna growth area plans, regulation development and other activities.
