Annual Meeting

The Lake Anna Civic Association holds its annual membership meeting on the last Saturday of July at the North Anna Nuclear Information Center (NANIC).  The meeting is open to all members in good standing and begins at 9 a.m. with a continental breakfast and time to interface with the various committees.  The official meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and features a review of the past year’s activities, election of officers, reports from the committees and a guest speaker on a topic of interest or impacting the lake and it environs.

This year's meeting was held on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The guest speaker this year was Leslie Anne Hammond, the York River Steward.  She spoke on her role as the York River Steward and the updated State of the York Report.  Sarah Marshall from Dominion also gave us an update on their Small Modular Reactor project. The meeting featured reports by other committees and a recap of LACA's activities during the year. One of the other highlights was the presentation of the Jack Bertron Distinguished Service Award, recognizing outstanding efforts on behalf of the Lake Anna community.  The late Jack Bertron founded LACA, and the award recognizes his work to preserve Lake Anna during his time here.   This years award went to Pat and Jane Gallagher.  They have made quite an impact on the Lake Anna community by spearheading the efforts to have fire and rescue services located at the lake.  And once New Bridge Station 8 was established, they didn’t sit back and relax.  They have continued to raise money for the extras for the station for the benefit of the lake residents and guests.

The meeting typically ends by 11:30 a.m. following a question and answer time from the attendees.

Next years meeting will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 with the location TBD.
